1. Do NOT engage the hacker. Once you realize you’re being hacked, do not speak with them. Do not try to negotiate return of your info. It never happens. If you ignore them they will keep threatening you which means they’re doing less rooting on your computer. This gave me time to change my discord password and my gmail password.
2. Use another device to change your passwords. Just in case there is a keylogger in the Trojan.
3. Take your computer off the internet and do a DEEP or FULL scan with whatever virus detection you have. This Trojan called wacatac was caught with Windows Defender.
4. Do not quarantine the file. DELETE it.
5. Check your startup list for anything you do not recognize. DELETE it. Some viruses can reinstall themselves this way.
6. Once you have a clean scan from your virus scanner and have a clean startup list, reboot your computer and deep scan again.
I recommend always having malwarebytes on your computer and I also sometimes use bit defender to check for false positives. Also if you lost your discord account you will have to submit a support ticket. I was lucky enough to be able to secure mine while he was threatening me to answer him or else things would get worse.
Stay safe out there ya’ll!
